Let me start by saying it was 100 degrees plus. It was as hot as this concert was. Taylor Swift opened, then Jack Ingram, then Kellie and finally Brad. Hope no one responds harshly because of my following comments. They are my opinions.
Taylor Swift was the energizer bunny on stage. Great stage presence. But because I'm over 40, I just don't get her. Maybe if I was a teenager, I'd like her. Vocally she does not compare to some of the best female country singers out there.
Jack Ingram didn't impress me either. If I wanted to listen to rock music, I'd go to a rock concert. Hardly could understand the words when he sang. At the end of his set, he threw his guitar up in the air and it fell to the stage floor and broke. Then he acted shocked at what happened. Get real.
Then on comes Kellie. She started with "Gotta Keep Moving". She had on black leggings with a black shirt with shiny silver imprints of skulls on the front bottom left side and square in the back. Didn't like the shirt. But black is great color with her hair. She then did "TTNCMM", "DYNHMILY",
"9 to 5", "I Wonder" and closed with "RHH". Her vocals were dead on.
When she was singing, everyone I could see was really into her. She received an amazing reception when she came out. The crowd sang "IW" all the way thru the song. Lots of crying seen throughout the crowd and standing ovation when she finished. She has really grown as a performer. She has great stage presence and interacted with the crowd.
Brad Paisley was as fantastic as usual. I'll just say this, I've seen him 3 times and I'll go see him again.
Now for the personal stuff. Our seats thru Brad's fan club were center section, row 6, aisle seats. We were in heaven. We were surrounded by some great people. The center catwalk was 6 seats to my left. Center stage was 10 ft. in front of me. Kellie sat at the end of the center catwalk to sing "IW" and when she was finished I gave her a gift bag I brought for her. Everyone around us was great to let me get against the stage to give it to her. She saw me and reached down to take the gift bag. She then grabbed my hand and winked. All I can say was, I was trembling so hard and wobbled back to my seat. My husband was fanning me because he thought I would pass out. Seeng her up close in person was a dream come true. Kellie is prettier in person.
None of them signed following the show which was very disappointing. But I understood she had to get to North Carolina for another show. I bought 2copies of her cd's she autographed and a shirt of her with her autograph. We also bought several of her tour shirts for gifts.
I knew one thing for sure when I left tere, I will go see her again and again whenever I can. For those who have not seen her yet, you're in for a treat. I have over 125 photos of the concert and 2 videos of Kellie. I need to sort thru them and will post them in a couple of days. Here are a few until then.
