Hey all,
Well I've been Photoshop CS2 less until I get a new monitor. My sister has Elements, so I had to find out all the controls to make a sig for the blending contest LOL So here's something I did in Elements, I'll make a quick tut on it and I'm attatching the .psd file so you can open it up and look at it layer by layer if you're interested.

Tutorial:
1. Get a picture and place it somewhere on your sig. I'm using two pics so I placed one on the right, without cropping the background out. This is going to be just photomanipulation.
2. I want the background pic to stand out less and look a bit transparent. I highered the brightness and lowered the contrast. Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Brightness and Contrast.
3. I always used color balance, but since I'm limited, I'm going to stick to coloring by dradients. I reset my gradients, loaded the gradient set called Color Harmonies or something (forgot the title, you'll know it though when you see it) and used the blue-ish gradient diagonally.
4. I don't want this to be a calm, blue sig, so I used a photo filter to make it a more pinkish color. Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Photo Filter.
5. I cut out the pic I'm going to use on the right and placed it there. I duplicated that stock and used a motion blur. Play around with it to make it look cool under the stock.
6. I lowered the contrast of just the picture on the right. Try Image > Adjustments > Brightness and Contrast, or Edit > Brightness and Contrast, I don't remember which.
7. i used a pastel like rainbow gradient diagonally.
8. I set my colors to dark blue and light blue and created a gradient map, set that to the blending mode Lighten. Layer > New adjustment Layer > Gradient Map.
9. Use these shortcuts on your keyboard:
CTRL A
CTRL SHIFT C
CTRL V
You should now have a merged layer (not flattened) of your sig. Or do it an easy way and go to Image > Apply Image, or select your sig and copy merge it, then paste it. Either way, you get the same result.
Now, filter > Distort > Ripple. I set mine to 600% and set the blending mode to Lighten.
Move the layer around or erase parts you don't want.
10. I used a fancy brush and set it by Kellie's hair. I also used a sparkle brush to make it all sparkly. Wee!
11. I want my sparkles to stand out. Give this layer a Curves. (There is a downloadable plug in to allow Photoshop Elements use Curves).
12. I used a render by a friend and set it to lighten for a cool effect for the next few layers.
13. I used another gradient for more color.
14. I brightened this up some more. Brightness + Contrast.
15. I added Text.
16. I added a custom shape under "DEBUT ALBUM" I selected the color I wanted on the outside and made a new layer, then went to Edit > Stroke and put a stroke on the outside.
17. Okay, apply your image again by merging or just image > applying it. Sharpen it. Filter > sharpen.
You're done. =)
